Note: Be sure to open the cover and remove the installed filters from the plastic bag before operating the air purifier.  When re-installed the black pre-filter should face you and the white v-HEPA side should face the inside of the air purifier.  If run continuously you should replace the v-HEPA filter about every 6 months for best performance. The carbon filter and UV-C lamp will last 1-2 years.

How the v-hepa Pro air purifier cleans the air:
Pre Filter: The air first enters pre-filter, capturing the largest particles, which enhances the durability and performance of the other filters.
High-Efficiency v-HEPA Filter. The most effective type of air filter at capturing dust, allergens and other solid particles (including bacteria). Effectively removes up to 99% of airborne pollutant particles that pass through the system. This includes contaminant particles such as pollen, bacteria, dust mites, viruses, smoke, and other airborne impurities as small as 0.3 micron. Unique low air flow resistance technology makes air purifier more powerful and effective.
Activated Carbon Filter. The best type of air filter for trapping chemicals, gases, odors and cigarette smoke.  According to Penn State Dept. of Aero-biological researchers, carbon filters serve to remove odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and chemicals that other filters cannot.
VOC/PCO filter (Photocatalytic Oxidation Filter). This filter is coated with titanium dioxide, which produces highly reactive ions and electrons when combined with the UV light from the UV-C lamp. These highly reactive ions attach to chemical molecules, bacteria and odor-causing compounds, destroying them through oxidation.  Independent tests by research scientists have proven photocatalytic oxidation to by highly effective.  Use of aluminum honeycomb structure, precious metal (Pt, Pd) oxide of nanometer criterion results in a very high efficiency catalytic decomposition ability against VOC's, specifically 2-4 times performance against activated carbon.
Germicidal UV Lamp. The most effective way to destroy micro-organisms, such as germs, viruses, fungi (such as mold) and bacteria. Also destroys micro-organisms including those that are trapped by the HEPA air filter, preventing them from reproducing and recirculating through the room. UV lamps are recommended by the U.S. Centers of Disease Control.
Patented and Effective Ion. The nano piezo-electric ion makes your room more like a natural environment. A Journal of Hygiene study found negative ions to improve efficiency of filter units and multiple studies (including those by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture) have found to be highly effective against dust, bacteria, etc.
